Khorfakkan, {{NEWS_DATE}} – The Strait of Hormuz has been closed to commercial shipping since 28 February 2026, and cargo bound for the UAE is being routed to ports on the Gulf of Oman. Khorfakkan Port, where Black Eagle Shipping is based, is on that coast, outside the Strait.

Sea freight from Asia, Africa and Europe reaches Khorfakkan without transiting the Strait. Black Eagle Shipping files the declaration at the port, collects the delivery order and moves each container out within its free time, then by road to Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.

Cargo for Saudi Arabia and Oman is declared in transit at Khorfakkan and continues under bond, without entering the UAE market.

Khorfakkan, {{NEWS_DATE}} – Black Eagle Shipping clears cargo through 10 gateways into the UAE: 6 seaports, led by Khorfakkan Port on the Gulf of Oman, with Port Khalid Sharjah, Fujairah Port, Hamriyah Port, Jebel Ali Port and Khalifa Port; Sharjah International Airport; and 3 road crossings, Khatmat Malaha and Hatta / Al Wajajah for Oman and Al Ghuwaifat for Saudi Arabia.

Each gateway has its own procedure. Sea freight is cleared at the port of arrival and air freight at the airport, while cargo leaving by road crosses the border with its GCC transit documents and guarantees.

Khorfakkan, {{NEWS_DATE}} – A company importing through Sharjah or Khorfakkan for the first time needs an importer code, registered with customs, before a declaration can be filed in its name. Black Eagle Shipping registers new importers and exporters and confirms the correct HS code for the goods before the first shipment, so the declaration is not held.

Controlled goods also require approvals from MoIAT, MoCCAE, the municipality or another authority. The commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading should be checked before the vessel sails, while corrections are still simple to make.
